[Dear Sess,]

I can't agree with you more! Is this really how gamers should represent themselves?

[iPhone 3G]

Let the rumors now rest: the new iPhone 3G was officially shown off by Apple guru Steve Jobs, and it's a heck of an update. First and foremost is the pretty obvious new feature: 3G support, aka a faster, more enjoyable mobile internet experience when you're not on a local Wi-Fi network. In addition to better browsing, 3G support also now allows iPhone owners to both use internet on the iPhone and talk to somebody on the phone at the same time. Another major hardware change is built-in GPS support. The iPhone could previously triangulate your position to a relative point via cell towers and Wi-Fi hotspots, but now with GPS, getting an exact position is now quicker and easier. In addition, you can now also get local traffic information, as well as step-by-step directions via live GPS tracking.A big deal to companies, and a side I have to admit I'm not completely familiar with, is the new Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support. Which, from what I understand, means if you work at an office that likes to keep everything synced via Microsoft products, your iPhone will now play nice with the network and e-mail servers. Then, of course, there were the applications. A whole host of software will soon be coming to the iPhone (and to some degree the iPod Touch), including an Ebay tracker, social networking tools, and a surprising number of games, among which are a very top-notch looking version of Super Monkey Ball (playable via the iPhone's motion tracking) and an adventure game that looked quick amazing in screenshots. There were also a list of updates that will be coming to all iPhones new and old (and the iPod Touch, for a price) via Firmware 2.0. The updates include: far better language support, contact searching, bulk move/delete in Main, ability to save received images in Mail, scientific calculator, iWork and Microsoft Office document support, parental controls, and more. The iPhone 3G hits July 11th, priced at the very received new prices of $199 for the 8GB model and $299 for the 16GB. Firmware 2.0 will be free for all iPhone owners in early July, and $9.95 for iPod Touch owners.

[RE: Alexa, Ubisoft and the Gaming Industry]

Alexa was, at one point, the Neislon's of the Internet community. It is impossible though, now, to accurately gauge the gaming industry with anything other than sales. Preorders are barely even a gauge.
